Freight Documentation Specialist

Prepare shipment files, draft house bills and arrival notices, and keep job costing accurate for freight forwarders in the Gulf, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

About this role

Documentation work is exacting and has to be right the first time, because a mistake on a house bill costs our client real money. You will be trained on CargoWise or Magaya and assigned to a forwarding client whose working day overlaps ours, so you work normal daytime hours.

What you will do

Create shipment job files from booking details
Draft house bills of lading and air waybills, checked against commercial documents
Issue pre-alerts and arrival notices to agents and consignees
Keep shipment milestones current so clients stop having to ask
Flag demurrage and detention risk before charges land
Record costs against each job and prepare files for invoicing

What we are looking for

Strong written English, especially accuracy in formal documents
Exceptional attention to detail
Comfortable working to deadlines without rushing the checks
Bachelor's degree in any subject

Helpful, but not required

Any study or work in trade, logistics or supply chain
Experience with CargoWise, Magaya or similar systems
Familiarity with import/export paperwork

Where and when

This role is based at our supervised office in Pokhara. Client work cannot be done from home, so you will need to be in Pokhara or willing to move here.
